Nine days out of three hundred and sixty-five have passed already. So far, so good with this project. I’m taking it much easier than I did last year. Last year I was very strict with myself, I tried as hard as possible to only post pictures that I took the day before, sticking with the “photo a day” rule. This year I’m not putting that much pressure on myself. If I happen to take photograph last week, and I want to use it….then I’m using it. I believe the point is to use my camera every day, and that’s what I’m doing.
Last night I worked a little with my new electronic flash. That thing has more buttons on it than my camera does. I’m so lost, I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with it. The only thing I can do is put it on the camera and shoot, I’m sure I will eventually figure it out. I don’t really do ANY flash photography, but I do think it’s important to have one. I got this shot of my dog last night using the flash.

I overexposed it a little on purpose, I don’t know, it looks a little pink to me, but I was happy that her eyes came out sharp. (50mm f/1.8).

So I changed the look of the blog again. I like this format because it stretches across the screen, and I think you get a better view of the pictures. I discovered how to make a gallery, so I added two widgets for “Photo Gallery” and ”Scrapbook Gallery”.
I haven’t taken many photographs lately, I’ve been working on the house. Cleaning from top to bottom and painting. Today I am painting a piece of furniture (a dry sink). I’m attempting to distress it, I’ll bang it up a bit with a hammer, prime it, paint it and then scratch it up with some sandpaper. We’ll see how it turns out, I’ll have to post a picture when I’m done. I’m hoping to finish it today.
For your viewing pleasure, (haha) here’s a picture of my dog I took a while ago. She and my cat Bob are good buddies, as you can see, she’s very comfortable with Bob laying on top of her.

This is my cat, Bob. He’s 12 years old. We got him when Vinny was three. My mother-in-law decided that Vinny needed a pet. Keith was totally against pets, so I told my mother-in-law to go ahead and get him. So I walked in to my house carring this cat with blue eyes and Keith says.
“You got a dam cat.”
That “dam cat” is now (and has been) Keith’s cat. He’s a Ragdoll, and of course we keep him inside. He sleeps just about anywhere, the steps, window sills, the back of the couches, the kitchen chairs, the hallway and the bathroom sink upstairs when it’s hot outside. Which means I have hair everywhere. He’s not afraid of the vacuum cleaner, at all. If I need him to move so I can vacuum the freakin cat hair that’s all over my house, I usually bump into him gently with the vacuum. I don’t know why I bother, because he doesn’t move. I have to bend over and pick him up so I can clean in that spot, then I just put him back down again. Like you would a statue. He’s a great pet, I just wish he could clean his own litter box.
All in all, He’s a beautiful creature with a snobby attitude. He kind of reminds me of Jeffrey the Butler from “Fresh Prince.” That’s what we should have named him, “Jeffrey the Butler.”

So here I am at WordPress. I decided to leave blogger, I was always having trouble with it. It was becoming more aggravating than fun. So far, WordPress has proven to be much better, it’s very easy to use and the templates are more my style. Besides, anyone who knows me well enough knows that I get bored REAL quick. I need change. Change is good.
I loaded some of the pictures that I’ve taken over the past couple of weeks and one from the shore over the Summer, just to fill up some space for my first post.
